Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has nominated Navy Rear Adm. Michael A. Lefever for appointment to the grade of vice admiral while serving as chief, Office of the Defense Representative-Pakistan, U.S. Central Command, Islamabad, Pakistan.
